Dr B. Zuma

Managing Director

Dr Zuma, a registered Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) has over 10 years of combined water environmental sciences years of research and consultancy experience. Dr Zuma holds a PhD in Environmental Biotechnology and has expertise and experience range between environmental management (Scoping, EIA & EMP), freshwater and wastewater management and treatment, water recycling and sanitation. As a specialist, Dr Zuma worked with Engineers, Geohydrologists, Geochemists in areas of water and environmental management including successful completion of projects as project manager, specialist and researcher

Ms A. Matshikwe

Administrator & Finance

Aviwe is an Administrative and Finance Officer. She holds a diploma in Financial Information Systems from Tshwane University of Technology having majored in Financial Accounting, Cost Management Accounting, Auditing and Financial Systems. She also has a short course certificate in Management and Business Accounting from Technikon Pretoria. Her current experience includes: providing general administrative support to the Managing Director and Staff, administering and monitoring of the Lugaju Innovation’s Financial System, managing the filing, storage and security of company documents and assisting in the recording and processing of invoices, receipts and payments as required and instructed. She has also worked as a Logistic Admin and Technical Officer at the City of Tshwane where her duties included reconciliation of electricity vendor accounts, maintaining user account information and data recovery and backup.

Dr E. Igbinigie

Executive Director Operations

PhD – Environmental Biotechnologist; Pr. Sci.Nat


Eric is a seasoned environmental consultant and a registered Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) with over nine years of combined experience in research, teaching and consulting. Eric holds a PhD in Environmental Biotechnology from Rhodes University. His expertise includes Environmental & Social (E&S) due diligence, EMS ISO 14001:2004, Scoping and EIA, EMP/ESMP, Waste/Wastewater Impact Assessment, Integrated Waste Management Plans, Waste Beneficiation, Bioremediation and Environmental Site Assessment (ESA – Phases I, II & III). Eric’s environmental consulting experience spans across various industry sector including mining, infrastructural development, energy / renewable energy, oil & gas and agro-industry. He has successfully completed projects in East, West and Southern African countries that are funded by Developmental Finance Institutions (DFIs) serving as both specialist consultant and project manager. Eric previously served as a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Environmental Biotechnology, Rhodes University, where he lectured and led a research group tasked with the successful beneficiation of coal spoils resulting in a waste land rehabilitation technology, a patented technology that is currently in use by Anglo Coal South Africa.

Onela is a highly motivated office administrative assistant. She holds a level 4 certificate in Office administration from Buffalo City TVET College. Her expertise includes Administrative support, Minute taking, Diary management, report writing and Office management. She is a proactive and skilled administrative assistant with one year hands-on experience and has extensive knowledge of MS package (outlook, PowerPoint, excel and word). Onela previously worked at Eskom verifying skills audit forms and data capturing.

Ms L. Jilimane

Environmental Consultant & GIS Specialist



Londeka is an environmental and water science consultant with a BSc. Hons degree in Environmental Science from the University of Fort Hare. Londeka has a 2-year experience in the environmental field, possessing a strong environmental awareness, excellent writing skills, and the ability to find innovative solutions. Her area of expertise includes Water quality and environmental monitoring, compiling Water Use Licence Application (WULA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Monitoring and audit, Report writing and Environmental rehabilitation plan. During her successful years of study, Londeka acquired advanced experience in computer literacy, Microsoft package and GIS packages (QGIS and ArcGIS), specialising in the use of GIS applications including spatial data elucidation, theory, principles and practices of GIS standards, in problem solving practical applications.

Mr B. Zathu

Bejula is an IT Technician with a Level 4 certificate in Information Technology from Buffalo City TVET College. He holds a certificate in installing and configuring windows server 2012 and business computing, also completed a training for Breaking Barriers to entry into the Public Service. Bejula’s expertise include providing technical support and maintenance of computers, ensuring network and server are fully operational, administering E-mail and web server and ensuring that network devices are virus protected and adequately updated with security updates. He has two years of experience in the IT industry.

Ms A. Gobane

Trainee Consultant



Asanda holds a degree in BSc Applied Geology majoring in Geology, Environmental and Water Science, she also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated Water Resources Management at the University of Western Cape. As an intern consultant at Lugaju Innovations, she provides sound theoretical and practical contributions in projects related to Water Quality, Groundwater and Surface Water. She possesses extensive skills and knowledge in computer literacy, Microsoft package and GIS packages (ArcGIS). As a recent graduate she is utilizing her observational and investigative skills obtained from her practicals during her studies within this agency.
